How I got to know about the Broadcast tech course? My Ela teacher (Retired) knew much about me and what my interests were, so she told me during end of eighth grade to take broadcast tech where I could get a chance to expand my hobbies. I chose it, First day, first period it was Broadcast tech -1 and when I had a look at the studio it was just surprising because in a school there was a professional studio production which made me motivate to enjoy this class.
Broadcast technology class has been a really good opportunity for me to expand my talent through editing, video shooting and also expanded my communications with my peers. I love cinematography and in many situations i couldn't get a chance to fulfill my hobbies. After I started going for Broadcast Tech-1 in Freshman year, I got a chance work on my cinematography skills. I love course!!
I gained a new experience in the broadcast tech class from a project called "New Package". My topic was about colors in the hallway, and I got to interview people and got to know about them in detail (not only related to the topic but other than the topic). It was my first time doing a news package and I got to know tricks on shooting the video and editing the video. My most favorite part of the project was getting a peer to check on my video and get there opinion from them to make my news package even more better. Overall I had a nice experience in working with this project.
I loved being in the broadcast technology class, I enjoyed a lot in working with cameras and other professional equipments and I loved handling the broadcast equipments like the Cg, audio system and the camera. There were man y enjoyable days in Broadcast. I am interested in taking Broadcast tech II but not in 10th grade, I'll be taking it a little later in high school. I got to learn how to interact with people by this especially when I was doing the interview. Overall in this class I had a nice experience. Overall in my ladue school life, this is my best class I have experienced.
As per my pervious blog about the recording and editing the interview I had a great experience working in final cut pro. This project, for me was kind of an extension of the previous project (Interviewing Mike Hill). I loved working on editing in a different way in final cut pro with my partner and I loved helping my partner with some ideas and some good way to make audience not disturbed by the video. Overall I had a nice experience in working with this project.
It was a really good experience with working in the interview. Loved the way we had to ask questions and loved the way the camera had to be facing. What I had learned during this unit was good ways to place the camera, how to use the mic and know places with better lighting for the video. I learnt how to interview a person with good body language, good questions other than questions with yes or no. All over I had a nice experience with working in this project especially with my partner Kani.
I HAD A NICE experience IN WORKING WITH FINAL CUT PRO FOR THE SIX WORD STORY PROJECT AND IT WAS REALLY ENJOYABLE IN EDITING AND RECORDING SHOTS. BY THIS PROJECT I GOT TO UNDERSTAND HOW ACTUAL MOVIES AND ACTORS AND ACTRESSES WORK HARD TO GET THE MOVIE SUCCESSFUL. BY THIS PROJECT I GOT TO BE CREATIVE WITH DIFFERENT EXTRAORDINARY IDEAS WHICH MADE GIVE A NICE VIDEO. MY VIDEO IS ABOUT "KEEP CALM AND HAVE FUN ENOUGH", THE REASON WHY I CHOSE THIS WAS BECAUSE USUALLY I MAKE FUNNY AND ENTERTAINING VIDEOS AND THIS SIX WORD STORY GAVE ME A FEELING THAT IT WOULD BE GOOD IF I MAKE THAT SIX WORD STORY IN MY VIDEO. THE FIRST I TOOK WAS A MEDIUM SHOT, CLOSE-UP SHOT, MEDIUM SHOT, WIDE SHOT, BIRD EYE VIEW.
THE REASON WHY I CHOSE THESE SHOTS IS BECAUSE I REALLY LIKE THEM AND THE WAY IT IS SHOT. I LEARNT THESE SHOTS AND PRACTICED THEM IN MR.GOBLE'S BOOK ABOUT WIDE, MEDIUM, AND TIGHT SHOTS.
IN THIS UNIT, I LEARNT TYPE OF SHOTS, HOW TO EDIT IN FINAL CUT PRO, AND RECORD VIDEOS IN A REAL CAMERA WITH IRIS, FOCUS AND WHITE BALANCE SETTINGS. ALL OVER, I ENJOYED THIS UNIT AND IT WAS A NICE EXPERIENCE.
We Were asked to make an research about Ernest Hemingway of what he was famous and what brought him in websites for his inventions - the six word story. I found this website called the Six Word Stories which gave me an idea of how to create an six word story and brainstorm them. It was enjoyable to research and create six words story.
The past two weeks, we had learned to shoot shots from a professional camera. We learned how set the iris before taking shots and also learned how to white balance the camera to change the shot color. I learned three type of shots: Wide, Medium, Tight shots. DURING THESE WEEKS I WATCHED A FORTY-FIVE MINUTE DOCUMENTARY ABOUT TAKING SHOTS AND LEARNED A LOT OF TECHNIQUES LIKE ALWAYS USING HEADPHONES, TRIPODS, FULLY-CHARGED CAMERA BATTERIES AND A SD-CARD OR ANY OTHER DISK TO SAVE YOUR SHOTS AND MORE. AFTER WE LEARN'T SHOOTING SHOTS, WE STARTED TO MAKE SHOTS WITH A PARTNER IN THE CAFETERIA. WITH THOSE SHOTS, WE EDITED THEM USING FINAL CUT PRO X (AN APPLE SOFTWARE) WHICH WAS A LITTLE COMPLICATED BUT WAS FUN. WHEN I ALWAYS EDIT A MOVIE I FIND DIFFICULTIES IN CUTTING OUT OR SKIPPING SHOTS, BUT WITH FINAL CUT'S BLADE IT WAS EASIER FOR ME TO CUT OUT SHOTS OR SKIPPING SCENE. OVERALL THE MOST INTERESTING PART OF FINAL CUT PRO WAS THE TRANSITIONS WHICH MADE ME FEEL CREATIVE.
TV studio blog entry #2 - The next day, after having a glance over the studio, I was partnered with another student of my same grade and started practicing in the studio. At first, we started in the cg which wasn't that interesting to me and as we went further we reached the floor directory it was getting more interesting. I loved the way the director and the floor director give commands to each other. All over I had a nice experience in the studio.
